We can also arrange for you to see these systems in action, and have many happy clients who have generously offered us the opportunity to show off the heating and/or cooling systems in their Vancouver Island homes. Or, just give us a call or stop in at our Comox Valley showroom, which uses a geothermal heat pump for the in-floor radiant heating and a ductless split heat pump in the office. At Axis Heating & Cooling, we offer a wide variety of Trane comfort solutions that can accommodate the unique needs of any home or business on Vancouver Island – including ducted and ductless heat pumps, electric and gas furnaces, and geothermal heat pumps. Trane also offers some of the most sophisticated thermostats and home automation systems available.
No matter what the weather is like outside, you can rely on a Trane system to effectively heat, cool and clean the air in your home. With innovations that go beyond industry standard, Trane has provided families everywhere with comfortable, clean and healthy air for generations. Ducted heat pumps use electricity to distribute heat evenly throughout your ductwork. Instead of burning fossil fuel like a furnace, a ducted heat pump captures the ambient heat from outdoor air and moves it into your home. During the summer, the process reverses and removes the heat from your home, providing air conditioning.
Also called mini-splits, a ductless split heat pump provides the same heating and air conditioning as a ducted heat pump, but without requiring ductwork. The system is composed of three main components—an indoor unit(s), an outdoor compressor unit and a remote control—most ductless split systems are connected by refrigerant lines and require no ductwork. The indoor unit can be mounted on the wall or in the ceiling. Since there is no ductwork to install, it’s easy to add Trane’s reliable heating and air conditioning to any home, in any room desired. It’s an economical and efficient option for homes without an existing ducted system or when adding ductwork may be impractical or too expensive. And with systems that can have up to 4 indoor units, your entire home can now be heated and cooled. Ductless split heat pump systems are a perfect retrofit to homes that use baseboard heating. A ductless split heat pump can save a homeowner 60% off the baseboard heating costs.
Mitsubishi Mr. Slim ductless split heat pump systems allow you to cool or heat without ductwork or windows and are the perfect solution for your Vancouver Island home, restaurant, computer room, retail store or Gulf Island cottage. Mr. Slim ductless split heat pump systems have an indoor air handling unit, and a slim-line outdoor condenser unit which are easily connected by refrigerant lines running through a small 10cm opening in the wall or ceiling. The outdoor unit cycles the refrigerant through the lines to and from the indoor unit, where the air is conditioned and then distributed into the open space. The indoor units come in a variety of styles and can be installed in compact tight spaces on walls or recessed into or suspended from ceilings. Each outdoor unit can accommodate up to 4 indoor units to easily provide heating and cooling to your entire home.
Harness the power of the earth in your home. No matter your region, Trane EnviroWise™ geothermal systems tap into this renewable, sustainable fuel source to efficiently heat and cool your home, even your water. While geothermal is the most efficient method of heating, the systems should be installed and designed only by certified geothermal professionals. Please contact our office for more details as geothermal heat pump installation is very site specific. Standard air cleaners have filters that are very dense, so they stop the dust by trapping it in a slightly porous filter. The fewer the pores, the more dust it can trap. However, this not only stops the dust and dirt, but it also stops the air from moving as well. So you may not be as comfortable and less air is cleaned efficiently. This is called pressure drop. The revolutionary Trane CleanEffects™ air filtration system has the lowest pressure drop with the highest efficiency possible.
Particles like dust, smoke and bacteria are often .3 microns or less. At that size, allergens can get deep into your lungs because they aren’t filtered well by your nose and throat. Installing an effective whole-house air purification system, such as Trane CleanEffects™, can reduce the presence of potential asthma and allergy attack triggers in your home, like dust, pollen, pet hair and dander, dust mites, mildew, lint, fungus, most tobacco smoke, cooking grease, and even bacteria.
