Carey’s custom designed Range Ventilation Systems are the summation of lessons learned in hundreds of past range ventilation projects that Carey’s has completed. As the National leader for Indoor Small Arms Range Ventilation, Carey’s takes pride in guaranteeing that each system will meet industry standards.
Carey’s designs Ventilation Systems to integrate quality components that are manufactured by the industry’s leading equipment suppliers. Carey’s has a strong working relationship with the top manufacturers in the HVAC industry, each of whom have earned a reputation for top quality air-handling units and other critical components. All ventilation equipment used in Carey’s Ventilation Systems is carefully selected as best in class, and installed with the unique requirements of the shooting range in mind.
Carey’s proprietary radial air diffusers and plenums are custom built and have been tested and proven to provide laminar air flow at the firing line after proper commissioning. These special diffusers are not available from a standard diffuser supplier.Small Arms Range Ventilation is unique. Here at Carey’s, we understand everything that goes into building a range ventilation system. We believe that there is no better contractor to install a specialized system than the company who designed it. By using Carey’s to provide a turn-key system from design to installation to start-up and commissioning, we can give you the guarantee that the system is designed correctly, installed correctly, commissioned correctly and will perform correctly to provide safe conditions for staff and customers and meet all industry standards.
Carey’s personnel have 18 years of experience installing range ventilation systems. We hire only seasoned employees and collaborate with industry leading partners. And, Carey’s has extensive sub-contractor relationships covering all the disciplines of range construction. Carey’s success in hiring and working with only the best is evidenced by our track record in building some of the most advanced, complex, state-of-the-art shooting and training facilities in the world.
All of Carey’s Range Ventilation Systems are provided with a direct digital control (DDC) system. The DDC systems are comprised of standard manufacturer components but programmed to automatically operate and maintain safe conditions. The DDC system will display warning messages and maintenance messages to make operating the range ventilation system effortless and if the range conditions should ever become unsafe, the DDC system will automatically shut down the ventilation system and alarm.
All of Carey’s Range Ventilation Systems are internet ready and can be networked to allow remote access. With the proper login credentials, owners and staff can connect to the system using any standard web browser. This also allows Carey’s to remotely access and provide technical support allowing us to help diagnose issues and prevent unwarranted service calls. Our staff are available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
The “Purge Style” system brings in 100% outside air to the range and exhausts 100% of the air. This type of system is the least expensive to install and maintain. Depending on the weather conditions, this may be the most expensive to operate. This system is the safest to maintain. If a filter change is done improperly, you cannot contaminate the facility. This system will typically not be practical if cooling is required and there are high humidity conditions in the area where the range is constructed. The “Recirculation Style” system brings in a constant percentage of outside air and re-circulates the rest of the supply volume. This system is much more expensive to install. The risk with this system is that if there is improper maintenance, the range can be contaminated. The advantage is for high humidity areas where cooling is required.
